1. Eat a well-balanced diet. Those extra calories are needed to support you and your growing baby. No diets during this time.
2. Keep Moving. Try to have at least 2.5 hours each week of activity that will elevate your heart rate.
3. Cigarettes and Other Substances: The use of tobacco, alcohol, and other illegal substances should not be used during a pregnancy. Ask your doctor if any of your current prescription medications are a risk factor for your baby.
